  1. Almost perfect timing with the Edinburgh Festival approaching and running for most of August. Though I expect there’ll be few rooms available in grand establishments such as these.

  2. Edinburgh has certainly been blessed with more than it’s fair share of grand hotels. We usually stop off in Edinburgh before heading north to the Highlands and Isles.

  3. Any time un Scotland really should have a few nights in Edinburgh built into the itinerary. And there’s a great choice of hotels here. You are spoiled for choice.

  4. “How do you know which one is for you?” Is the big question. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels which really haven’t been my cup of tea though other guests have raved about them. It’s always worth getting that extra information.

  5. Only ever been to Edinburgh on business so I’ve seen nothing of the city. If I do finally make it there, then there won’t be any worries about quality of accommodation.

  6. There’s an amazing buzz to watching an event at the Fringe Festival and sensing that an actor or performance is going to be the next big thing.

Remember that “Six” started out at the Fringe and it’s now playing across the world. Though it’s hard to find a bed during the festival as the whole world wants to be there.
