  1. It says so much that Reid’s has the status of a palace. It has a long-reputation of impeccable service. You won’t beat it on Madeira and there are few places – or indeed palaces – in the world that can touch it.

    1. Yes, Reid’s is well known for its world-class service, and I’d certainly opt for a sea view room to benefit from the spectacular views.

  2. Madeira has always been the choice for the sophisticated traveller. Once you’ve grown up and grown out of the Canaries, Madeira with its slower pace of life is a luxurious place to relax and recharge if that’s the direction you want to head.

    1. Madeira has certainly been one of those destinations that’s kept its charm and, as you say, sophistication.

  3. My choice would be the Quinta da Bela Vista. When I’m on holiday I want to get away from the hustle and bustle. I also prefer buildings that have some character and history, much better than modern concrete blocks.

    1. Good choice Margaret. Sometimes you just want to stay in a charming, smaller hotel, that has the time to offer its guests that special touch.
