  1. Santa (and my family) – these SWAROVSKI binoculars have just accelerated to the top of my Christmas List. My New Year treat is a visit to the incredibly opulent Royal Opera House in Muscat.

Sultan Qaboos of Oman is something of an Opera Buff and an evening at the ROH is the apogee of Omani High Society. These elegant binoculars would be perfectly in keeping with the grandeur of a setting dripping with chandeliers.

With these compact optical miracles I would not miss a single thing on stage.

  2. Twenty years ago I had a fantastic trip to Costa Rica.

I love watching wildlife but to be absolutely honest my binoculars just weren’t up to the job.

I am planning to return to Costa Rica around April next year. My old binoculars were chucked out long ago.

I’ve learnt that it is vital that you invest in good binoculars. Wildlife waits for no man. You’ve got to have the right optical equipment at the right time.

  3. One of my great passions is watching live cricket. With declining eyesight and a sphere of red leather being bowled at around 90mph I frequently struggle to see the ball. I’ve taken to watching every single ball of the day through binoculars. A full day’s play in a Test Match is 540 balls, and that is not including No Balls and Wides. So, light binoculars such as these are essential for me. Also, I like to think that I am a lady and that I’m entitled to some style.

  4. SWAROVSKI always get it right. First off it is an absolutely stupendous product. Quality. That don’t just give you ONE reason to buy but EIGHT. Then there’s the packaging – nice and handy for wrapping up as a present. Next up there is the timing of this piece…. just as you were wondering what to get the love of your life for Christmas. Problem solved. Magical marketing.

  5. Adding some elegance and class to your rugged wilderness escapes, it seems a bit much. But I can see why this would be great outdoor companions, the specs are nice and it’s a beaut!

  6. November release eh? Great timing for the Christmas market.

Perfect present for that relative who has almost got everything. Ideal for wildlife lovers. In other words I think they are on my present shortlist for my old man.

  7. First of all, Thanks for such a great article about Swarovski, one of the best binoculars available on today’s market. Your article helped me. After reading this detailed review, I am going to buy it.

  8. “Ergonomic design” may seem like a glib marketing phrase but actually it’s often vital. Wildlife watching ain’t easy. You can be lifting the binoculars to your eyes dozens of times in an hour so comfort and a lightweight are vital.

  9. My son’s always on the ALTB website. I think he’s heading for a quarter life crisis as he just wants to travel all the time.

Anyway, I got a pair of these top-notch binoculars for Christmas so I guess that he got the inspiration from your site. So, from a delighted old man I’d like to say thank you to you for giving him the idea.
